Yes. Click here for some tips. How do I know if the IXL assessment is completed? You will see a notification on your screen that has three stars and says that your diagnostic test is complete.
What should I do if the test takes longer than the recommended time? If your test is taking longer than four hours, it is okay for your student not to complete the whole test. One way to help the test take less time is to select the “I don’t know this yet” option if the student is unsure of the answer. If your student has a good guess, then have the student answer the question, but if the student is unfamiliar with the concept, have the student select, “I don’t know this yet.” That way, the test scores can be narrowed down more quickly and accurately. Additionally, your student is welcome to sign out and then sign back in at a later time. The questions are above my student’s grade level. Is this normal? Yes. The IXL assessment is trying to diagnose your student’s exact level for reading and math. For this reason, questions that are harder or easier than expected may be asked. Additionally, questions may get harder if a student demonstrates mastery of easier questions. Encourage your student to do their best, and if they encounter questions that they are completely unfamiliar with, they can answer “I don’t know this yet.” That will make the test more accurate and have it take less time. What should my student do after the test is completed? Watch this video for your next steps. You can also review this PDF from IXL that explains how to interpret the test results. |
